Cranky

I need a magnesium alarm. A little device that sits in the corner of the hallway counting how many times a minute I walk past. More than five & it moves to frustration. More than ten and it starts to beep with a little red sign flashing "Take Magnesium Now!!".
It would save poor little Meri Erde a lot of heartache.
Cranky Mama!

The Orchestra Appluaded

Mahler. Have I lost it? Purging is difficult. That's why it's called purging I suppose. Getting rid of old baggage. Still, some old baggage is kind of pleasant to keep around. Like applause, or Mahler.

lately, Parenting for a Peaceful World. Jackie French's Backyard Selfsufficiency always turns me on, it's a fantasy world for me though 'cause we rent in the city and I'm too lazy to do the things I could actually manage. I loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy when I was ten, then Mists of Avalon in my teens but nothing (fictionwise) has been as memorable since. Oh, Gunter Grass' Diary of a Snail was pretty good.

Why do I need a Tribe?

I met a woman today who told me she still breastfeeds her 22 month old overnight (and during the day). She lives around the corner from me. I know plenty of woman who have done that, so why did she make more of an impact? Because I just happened to meet her in the park, I didn't meet her at an attachment or natural parenting gathering. I actually doubt if she's heard of attachment parenting. She's just doing what she knows is right. I didn't realise until today's chance conversation in the park how much I still look for outside validation.

Toilet Cloth

Yes, I've made the icky switch. Only for wee mind you, it's surprising how not disgusting it is when you try.
New Zealand trip is currently planned for May. I'm so nervous. It's looming large like a two week long, 24 hour a day audition *shudder*
